THE CONCEPT AND THE DESCRIPTION OF THE DESIGN
The idea of the concept is based on two representative pictures. They were staring us in the face when we visited the area for the first time, in January. Both the pictures are referred to the storm in 29th October 2018 that caused the devastation and the eradication of the trees and they gave us the main idea of the shape and of the space organization.
The first one is represented by the old-wood pile (trunks and branches) placed in the area.
Their presence in the flat area, surrounding of the Malga Costa zone, suggested us the localization of the project.
The secondo one is referred to the ripped out and eradicated trees by the wind force. The trees profile shape shot down and lying on the ground trees suggested us the shape of the building that want to be similar to a eradicated tree.
The design starts out of the assumption that it needs to provide to the artists a set of spaces. They are not only the residential space, but as well spaces that can be used to observe the landscape, to meditate and to carried out their projects and their work of art.
There are five elements that characterized the artists residences-atelier:
1) The observation tower;
2) The art-room
3) The artists residence;
4) the route;
5) the bridge.
